Basilica Herringbone Pullover

$8.00 USD Sale Save
Like the staggered bricks that hold up the inner dome of an ancient basilica, herringbone stitches replicate that same structure to engineer an architectural embellishment in an otherwise simple pullover. Play with layering the color and ombre combinations of Monokrom to create an intriguing structure of your own.

Designed with 3.5-4"/9 -10 cm positive ease in bodice, sleeves are more fitted.
The pullover is worked seamlessly in the round, from the bottom up to the armholes.
The two-color yoke is worked flat with larger needles, then finished in the round with the smaller needles for yoke and neck. For a slightly tighter/smaller ribbing at wrists, hem and neck, a US 2.5/3mm needle may be preferred.
Bodice and sleeves are worked separately to the underarm then joined and worked together in the round.
Short rows are added to the back of the sweater for a better fit before joining bodice and sleeves.
Short rows are also added across the back to raise the back neck for a proper fit.
