The bucket hat is worked in one piece from the top down with minimal finishing.
It’s knit in the round using DPNs or circular needles and Magic loop technique.
The crown of the hat starts with the circular cast on. It’s knit in Stockinette stitch, increasing to get the needed circumference for the body, then brim of the hat.
A relatively dense gauge, and a series of either purl ridges and/or rapid increases immediately followed by decreases lend the hat its structure.
