Techniques: German short rows, picking up stitches

Ruuno is worked from the top down, starting at the upper back shaped with German short rows. Stitches for front pieces are picked up at the shoulders. After working down to the armholes, the pieces are joined. Stitches are picked up to work the applied ribbed collar first, then the sleeves.

Faux seams are created by picking up stitches to add stability, structure and shape. The collar edges slightly overlap in the center front when laid flat.

The cardigan is worn with the purl side of the fabric as RS, but can be worn with the knit (WS) side facing if preferred.
