Airbender is a shawl that represents the different conditions of air and the graceful movements of an airbender.

Sizes: One Size; 54” / 137 cm straight edge, 66.5” / 169 cm sloped edge, 44” / 112 cm bind-off edge

Gauge: 26 sts x 44 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Alternating Stockinette & Garter stitch with 2 different weights (fingering + lace), blocked
A rep of 14 sts x 28 rows Chart B or C measures 1.75” / 4.5 cm horizontally, 2.75” / 7 cm vertically
Gauge is not crucial but will affect the size of the shawl & yarn consumption.

Airbender is a triangular shawl that begins at the tip with a small number of stitches and expands through increases along the left edge in every RS row.

There are 4 sections, a different stitch pattern worked in each section, representing various air conditions and airbender movements.

The work starts with a traveling slip stitch motif for section 1, then transitions to the Estonian Nupps in section 2, continues with holes in Section 3 and finally ends with a wavy border for Section 4.
